A disciple of Ferran Adriá, José Andrés was one of the pioneers of today’s Spanish gastronomy on the other side of the Atlantic, making tapas, the basic unit of Spanish gastronomic tradition, a familiar product for millions of Americans. The program achieved great popularity during its broadcasting on the public channel TVE 1. Its colloquial, clear and entertaining language, and José Andrés’ ease in presenting the most sophisticated dishes in a simple way, were some of the keys to its great success.
